Lion and the Scouts recently headlined a gig in UPLB entitled sE-DI-Tion: Get Up, Stand Up last November 19, 2015.
It was the reggae band’s first time to play in Los Banos. Backed up by rap group Kartel, they performed in front of an intimate yet spirited and bouncy campus crowd at Nesting Grounds Bar in LB Square, a popular hangout spot just outside the university.
The band played their hits, including the song “Pag-asa…Pag-ibig…Paglaya” which the crowd apparently knew and the fans sang by heart.
Lion and the Scouts had to extend their set to accommodate the request of fans. The group was delighted to know they have a following on campus.
That night, the event organizers requested the members of the University Student Council, which were in attendance, to have the band perform at the 2016 UPLB Feb Fair.
Other notable bands that performed at sE-DI-Tion were Gnarrate, Lottie, Venok Learns to Rock, Kontra-Gapi, Grassroots, and Plagpul.
The event was organized by Sigma Delta Pi Sorority (EDIT-UPLB) in partnership with Sigma Kappa Pi Fraternity (EKIT-UPLB) for the benefit of political prisoners and #saveourschools Network for Lumads.
