The Fourth San Pablo City Comics Festival is an event that is meant to celebrate Philippine comics by gathering together today’s most popular comic creators to interact with their readers. At least 50 different artists will be on hand to promote and sell their comic books.
The festival will be held at Roño’s Place, a decades-old function hall located at #4 F. Mariño Street, Lakeside Park Subdivision, San Pablo City, Laguna. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. Various activities include an exhibit area where not only exhibitors/artists, but visitors are invited to post their artworks. Seminars will also be conducted by today’s most popular comics creators like Manix Abrera and Gioseppe Custodio. Super special guests include X-Men/Avengers artist Leinil Francis Yu and head organizer Gerry Alanguilan.
The choice for San Pablo as the location for this festival came from Gerry Alanguilan, who lives in San Pablo City. Gerry’s intentions are to help promote not only comic books, but San Pablo City, as well. He also hopes that gathering so many creators in one place will help engage local artists to pursue their own creativity.
